Overview

Due to continued growth and further expansion plans, we are looking to hire a Business Development Manager to join our team. As a business development manager, you will focus on expanding an organisation’s customer base, market reach and revenue streams. This position combines strategic planning, relationship management and supporting commercial activities, often working closely with senior leaders and sales management teams. As a Business Development Manager, your key duties may include:

Key Responsibilities

The Business Support Manager undertakes a diverse range of responsibilities that are vital for the function of any construction firm. Primary duties include:

  • Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities in target markets

  • Researching prospects and developing outreach plans to generate leads

  • Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients

  • Developing tailored proposals and presentations that address client needs and objectives

  • Negotiating contracts and closing agreements in line with revenue and margin goals

  • Collaborating with marketing and product teams to align campaigns with growth priorities

  • Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to inform business development strategies

  • Preparing sales forecasts, pipelines and performance reports for senior management

  • Leading and coaching junior business development or sales team members, where applicable

Qualifications and Skills Required

To excel as a BDM in the construction sector, candidates must possess a mix of educational background and practical experience. Typically, a bachelor/Masters’s degree in business administration or a related field is required. Additionally, the following skills are essential:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational issues effectively.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear information dissemination.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently.

  • Familiarity with construction management software and tools is an advantage. However, full training will be provided.

Salary: 35k-44K DOE

Type: Full-time Permanent
